Automation and Controls Specialist / Engineer
Location: Covington, GA (Headquarters)

Our client is seeking a hands-on Automation and Controls Specialist / Engineer to join their growing team. This individual will play a key role in designing, programming, and supporting automation systems that power innovative solutions for their customers.
Key Responsibilities
PLC Programming – Required
- Develop and implement PLC programs from scratch to support a wide range of products and systems.
- Program using Carel Software and Automation Direct (DirectLOGIC) PLCs. Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and other platforms is highly desirable.
- Provide remote technical support (phone and email) to troubleshoot customer issues.
- Travel to customer sites as needed for installation support, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Minimum 5 years of direct PLC programming experience required.
Component Selection – Preferred
- Select and specify electrical and automation components (motors, circuit breakers, relays, VFDs, controllers, etc.).
- Create and maintain a Job Parts Control Sheet (JPCS) in Excel for procurement.
- Strong Excel proficiency is highly beneficial.
Additional Involvement
- Collaborate with the CAD and electrical design teams to support testing, validation, and integration of electrical designs and PLC programs.
- Participate in testing and verification of PLC programming (DirectLOGIC Software) to ensure quality and reliability.
