Authorized Inspector (Trainee) - Orion Talent : Job Details

Description Position Summary Title: Authorized Inspector (Trainee) Location: Lynchburg, VA Shift: Monday-Friday, standard daytime schedule; occasional evenings/weekends; extended hours required during annual outages (4-12 weeks). Compensation: $72,500 base salary plus overtime; paid 4-5 month training program with pay increase upon successful completion. Travel: Required; occasional overnight stays within assigned territory. Key Responsibilities

• Complete 12-14 weeks of ASME/National Board training and certification, including 120 hours of on-the-job training alongside an experienced Inspector.
• Perform inspections of new construction, repairs, alterations, and jurisdictional compliance of boilers and pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Sections III) and National Board Code, as well as applicable client standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with equivalent military experience, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5 years' experience with boiler and/or high-pressure steam and water system maintenance/operation.
• 4+ years of mechanical experience with boilers and pressure vessels in nuclear or conventional power plants.
• Preferred: Navy MM/BT, SRO, Steam PPWO/EOOW with 3+ years' experience; Navy Nuke EM or ET with minimum 3 years qualified SRO experience.
• Experience in quality assurance inspections for mechanical equipment, steam, and water systems.
• Familiarity with inspections of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
• NBIC Boiler Inspector qualification and insurance inspection experience a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and Lotus Notes.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; must pass background check.
