Overview:

This position will be responsible for the strategic growth of key audience segments for hospitality and education design events within the Design Group. Working closely with the Show Management,Operations, Marketing and Sales departments for EDspaces and Hospitality Design, the Audience Development Manager will operate as a liaison between confirmed and prospective hosted/scholarship attendees and will be expected to have thorough knowledge of both education and hospitality industry trends, key groups, and industry associations. Through industry relations, one-to-one outreach, and working closely with brand marketing leaders, this role will drive growth and retention through carefully crafted customer journeys, data analysis, and strategic marketing plans.

This position can be performed from any of our US-based offices or remotely from anywhere within the US.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct market research to understand the evolving education and hospitality design markets and their unique needs.
  • Research, develop, and execute strategic, data-driven acquisition plans for target audience segments.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the HD Expo + Conference Hosted Buyer program and the EDspaces scholarship program. Assist with all matters related to successfully hosting these key groups, including event and marketing strategy, travel matters, registration, and all other general support for any issues that may arise. This role also serves as the first point of contact onsite for hosted buyer and scholarship program participants.
  • Support marketing team by regularly reviewing marketing plans, campaign statistics, audience demographics, and industry best practices
  • Implement initiatives to enhance the onsite attendee experience, including attendee orientation, VIP sessions and events, matchmaking, and overall experience design.
  • Regularly research and develop prospect lists through conversations with internal stakeholders and exhibiting brands, reviewing partner lists, and working with marketing operations to source new leads.
  • Manage engagement/outreach strategy for HD hosted buyers and EDspaces scholarship attendees that compliments the respective brand audience marketing plan and supports overall event goals. This includes email campaigns, one-to-one outreach via email and phone, developing 1x1 relationships with A+D firms, and post-show communications.
  • Own the hosted buyer and scholarship attendee experience on matchmaking platforms and apps. Manage Hosted Buyer budget and develop Hosted Buyer program that ensures maximum number of VIPs are in attendance and within budget.
  • Collaborate with brand marketing leads to create pipelines and promote event participation.
  • Test new channels and partnerships to expand reach and find new audiences.
  • Develop new sponsorship opportunities centered around giving exhibitors access to key audiences based on participant wants/needs and industry trends.
  • Create and manage weekly reports tracking key audience growth and engagement for both HD Expo + Conference and EDspaces.
  • Manage budget for hosted buyer/scholarship attendee travel, marketing campaigns, and other expenses.
  • Attend select industry events to network and meet attendee prospects.
Qualifications:
  • Available to travel for periods lasting longer than 5 days as requested, assigned required.
  • Self-starter who can work quickly on simultaneous projects, takes input and direction well and is comfortable with a collaborative work environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail in a deadline driven, team-oriented work environment
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of education/capital improvement projects (pre-k to higher education) or hospitality development/investment or design projects a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe suite
  • Working knowledge of Hubspot a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Target Compensation: 65,000-75,000 (Bonus Eligible)

Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidates qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.
