So, dust off your boots, embrace the spirit of adventure, and join us on a journey that will ignite your passion and unleash your expertise in the thrilling world of heavy machinery.The Auction Specialist Manager will lead, coordinate, train, and oversee the Auction Specialist field support team. Working within operations they assist teams in solving critical issues and teach others to do the same. They serve as mentors to teammates, coaching when needed, to ensure departmental goals are met. Auction Specialists travel throughout a region gathering information and documentation needed from sellers before their equipment is sold on www.purplewave.com. This will include completing listing sheets, taking photos and/or videos, obtaining service records, titles, etc. of heavy equipment, vehicles, trucks, and trailers.Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and implement field support procedures for maximum efficiency and cost containment
  • Travel within the assigned region to meet with employees, clients and attend industry events.
  • Attend meetings at Manhattan, KS headquarters at least monthly, more if business needs require.
  • Ensures field staff and customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service
  • Stays abreast of upcoming projects to ensure effectiveness and coverage
  • Works within the operations management team to standardize processes and drive continuous improvements across the department
  • Maintains proficient knowledge of internal systems and understands the impact of system and process changes
  • Visits event locations assisting with the planning and preparation of large projects
  • Review Auction Specialist created equipment listing prior to or immediately upon upload to Purple Wave.com to ensure a consistent, quality listing is presented to the public.
  • Creates and maintains standardized training materials, documentation, and guides
  • Undertake additional assigned duties as requested
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Structures, hires, leads, coaches, trains and develops Auction Specialist staff for maximum effectiveness
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of equipment experience.
  • Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably in an operations environment.
  • Ability to draw from extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to listen to team members and incorporate their feedback.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both strategic and functional levels.
  • Highly proficient with a broad set of common technology applications including spreadsheet applications (Excel, Google Docs), word-processing applications (Word, Google Docs), presentation applications (PowerPoint, Google Slides), and other productivity applications.
  • Equipment industry experience, agriculture, construction, or internet auction background, preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Candidates may be requested to complete position-specific skills assessment testing
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Requires the ability to successfully complete a background check
  • Candidates must possess a valid state driver's license in compliance with the laws and regulations of the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Not Required: Bid calling skills and auction experience
Working Settings:
  • Full-time Salaried Exempt, not eligible for overtime
  • Flexibility in schedule and ability to work outside of standard business hours
  • Required to live in the assigned region or have the ability or willingness to relocate to the area within a defined time as agreed upon during the hiring process.
  • Expected to travel up to 50 to 70% of the time
  • Please note that this position is physically demanding and requires regular climbing, lifting, and physical exertion. The Equipment Field Inspector/Auction Specialist will be required to climb on, over, and under heavy equipment and vehicles, and lift and move equipment and parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
Compensation:
  • The salary varies based on experience and qualifications but typically ranges from $75,000 to $110,000 per year.
  • You will also be a participant in the Company's Monthly Bonus Plan. Monthly bonuses are
  • determined by the Company's monthly revenue result and are paid on a percent to plan payout
  • formula. (90% = $300, 100% = $600, 110% = $900, 120% = $1,200)

  • Monthly phone stipend in accordance with the Company's cell phone policy, currently $120/month
  • Health, Dental, and Vision starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment
  • 401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment
  • Company-paid Life Insurance benefit of $25,000 with options to add more through employee contribution starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment
  • Personal Time Off (PTO) annual amount of 120 hours which is prorated based on the number of days between the 60th day of employment and the end of the calendar year.
