About the Job

The Marlin Group has established strong leadership in the Pacific and is now seeking a proven, enthusiastic leader to guide our growing efforts in the Atlantic. This role offers the opportunity to shape the region's tournament strategy, develop new luxury event offerings, foster community and industry partnerships, and deliver world-class experiences for anglers and stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesRegional Leadership & Strategy

• Lead development and execution of tournament strategy across the Atlantic region, including established events like theBermuda Triple Crownand theScrub Island Billfish Series.
• Develop complementary events to further accentuate standard tournament offerings, offering new upscale opportunities for sponsors and attendees.
• Make recommendations for the continued optimization of existing tournaments, while actively seeking new opportunities for growth.
• Partner closely with the CEO and Pacific counterpart to ensure aligned global standards and shared learning.

Operational Excellence & On-Site Management

• Oversee all aspects of tournament and event planning, logistics, and on-site execution—from schedules, registration, and weigh-ins to rule enforcement, staffing, and partnership coordination.
• Be present on-site for Atlantic events, ensuring smooth operations and swift resolution of issues according to best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement & Growth

• Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, host destinations, participants, vendors, and local authorities.
• Oversee participant registration and, with the Marketing Director, drive promotion to maintain strong engagement and participation.

Budget & Financial Oversight

• Develop and manage event budgets, monitor expenses and revenues, and deliver timely financial reconciliations to Bonnier's Finance team.

Staff Management & Coordination

• Recruit, train, and supervise event staff and volunteers, ensuring clarity of roles and smooth execution.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Editorial, Marketing, Legal, Finance) for integrated support across events.
• Implement and monitor safety protocols, emergency procedures and fishery regulatory requirements—including weather adaptations and local permitting regulations.
• Enforce tournament rules, manage disputes impartially, and ensure compliance with legal and organizational guidelines.

Qualifications & Attributes

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in event or tournament management, especially within the sports or fishing industry.
• Proven leadership in event logistics, budgeting, staffing, and stakeholder communication.
• Strong organizational skills, travel flexibility, and comfort with on-the-ground event management.

Preferred:

• Experience with big-game fishing tournament operations.
• Success in growing event portfolios and developing sponsor partnerships.
