Athletic Trainer – Permanent Full Time | Wisconsin

$50,000 – $70,000 annually + Full Benefits + Up to $7,500 Sign-On Bonus

We are seeking a motivated Athletic Trainer for a permanent role in Wisconsin. This position offers the opportunity to impact athletes, students, and patients through injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation — while also providing support in occupational health and clinical settings.

Schedules Available:

  • Full-time (80 hrs / pay period; Monday–Friday with evening coverage for athletic events)
  • PRN (as needed for additional coverage)

Weekend Rotation: Occasional event coverage

Holiday Rotation: Occasional event coverage

Responsibilities

  • Provide event coverage at a contracted high school, including after-school athletics
  • Prevent, evaluate, and manage injuries: histories, exams, diagnosis, treatment planning
  • Concussion management: assessment, monitoring, return-to-play clearance
  • Educate athletes, parents, and coaches regarding injury and treatment plans
  • Perform functional assessments, job-specific conditioning, and post-offer employment tests
  • Assist with occupational health (POETs, desk assessments, FPNs)
  • Document treatments and progress in EMR systems
  • Serve as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic: histories, scheduling surgeries, and patient education
  • Coordinate schedules for athletic event coverage
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Current Wisconsin Athletic Trainer License (must be maintained)
  • Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • BLS certification required

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with musculoskeletal and concussion evaluations
  • Knowledge of emergency care and occupational health practices
  • Strong communication skills for working with athletes, families, coaches, and physicians
  • Detail-oriented, compassionate, and adaptable team player
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Office, EMRs)
