RSM is looking for an Audit Manager to join our Private Equity practice.

This practice is dynamic, robust, and continues to expand every year. RSM serves a wide range of clients, including approximately 1,500 private equity and venture capital clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating the auditing of all required financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables.
  • Assess risk along with designing and communicating audit procedures to engagement teams.
  • Understand and utilize RSM's Audit Methodology.
  • Manage multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations for staff.
  • Understand skillsets and capabilities of Senior Associates and Supervisors, monitor and review their work, and report on performance while providing coaching notes throughout the process.
  • Supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors on engagement teams, facilitating fieldwork by monitoring productivity and adherence to work plan schedules.
  • Maintain contact with clients throughout the year to understand the impact of significant developments in their business and assess their impact on current-year audit engagements.
  • Develop others within the firm through training, advising on career development, and participating in firm initiatives.
  • Subscribe to and actively read industry publications, sharing relevant information with clients as applicable.
  • Anticipate and address client concerns, escalating issues as they arise.
  • Understand RSM's lines of business and discuss opportunities to make valuable introductions to other firm services.
  • Develop strategies to utilize relationships external to the firm with Centers of Influence to facilitate business growth.
  • Manage project profitability.
  • Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to senior management and partners.
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure ongoing professional development through education.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments affecting GAAP and firm standards and policies.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the year, depending on client needs.
    • Required Qualifications:
    • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
    • CPA or CA Certification.
    • 5+ years of recent experience in public accounting.
    • Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.
    • Understanding of audit services, GAAP, GAAS, FASB, or IFRS regulations.
    • Proven record of building profitable client relationships.
    • Minimum of 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Successful record of directing and deploying staff on multiple engagements.

The salary range for this role is $89,800 - $170,500, with potential for discretionary bonuses based on performance.
