RSM is looking for an Audit Manager to join our Private Equity practice.
This practice is dynamic, robust, and continues to expand every year. RSM serves a wide range of clients, including approximately 1,500 private equity and venture capital clients.
Responsibilities:
Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating the auditing of all required financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables.Assess risk along with designing and communicating audit procedures to engagement teams.Understand and utilize RSM's Audit Methodology.Manage multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations for staff.Understand skillsets and capabilities of Senior Associates and Supervisors, monitor and review their work, and report on performance while providing coaching notes throughout the process.Supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors on engagement teams, facilitating fieldwork by monitoring productivity and adherence to work plan schedules.Maintain contact with clients throughout the year to understand the impact of significant developments in their business and assess their impact on current-year audit engagements.Develop others within the firm through training, advising on career development, and participating in firm initiatives.Subscribe to and actively read industry publications, sharing relevant information with clients as applicable.Anticipate and address client concerns, escalating issues as they arise.Understand RSM's lines of business and discuss opportunities to make valuable introductions to other firm services.Develop strategies to utilize relationships external to the firm with Centers of Influence to facilitate business growth.Manage project profitability.Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to senior management and partners.Identify performance improvement opportunities.Ensure ongoing professional development through education.Keep abreast of latest developments affecting GAAP and firm standards and policies.Willingness to travel 25% of the year, depending on client needs.Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- CPA or CA Certification.
- 5+ years of recent experience in public accounting.
- Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.
- Understanding of audit services, GAAP, GAAS, FASB, or IFRS regulations.
- Proven record of building profitable client relationships.
- Minimum of 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful record of directing and deploying staff on multiple engagements.
