Citizens' equity research department covers 400+ public companies and provides institutional clients with comprehensive industry knowledge, unique insight, and actionable information. Our senior research analysts develop proprietary investment themes, anticipate secular and cyclical changes, and produce action-oriented reports. The department focuses on companies in seven broad growth industries: Technology, Healthcare, Financial Services, Consumer, Industrial, Digital Infrastructure, and Real Estate. We produce specialized equity research that helps institutional investors understand and profitably invest in complex growth stocks.

We are seeking an Associate to join our Financial Services & FinTech Research Team in New York. The Research Associate will support research activities related to over 40 publicly traded Financial Services & FinTech companies, communicate with investors, present to our institutional equity sales team, and interact with company executives, venture capitalists, and private equity firms.

The Associate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing research reports, conducting financial analysis and modeling, industry and company-specific research, and coordinating processes to generate proprietary research.

Additionally, the candidate is expected to study for and pass the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 86, and Series 87 exams.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain financial models
  • Perform financial analysis and due diligence
  • Write company-specific and thematic investment research reports
  • Conduct research using primary literature, proprietary databases, and industry surveys
  • Attend management meetings and investor conferences
  • Analyze and update investment themes in the Internet sector
  • Respond to requests from the sales force and clients

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of research experience in Financial Services/FinTech preferred
  • Ability to relocate to or reside in New York
  • Passion for stocks and the stock market
  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, data science, or computer science with outstanding academic achievement
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership and teamwork skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States

Hours & Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday

Pay Transparency:

The salary range is $100,000 - $200,000 annually, plus potential incentive earnings. Actual pay depends on location, skills, and experience.
