Job Description :
*REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:*\*$1,000 sign on Bonus - $500 upon completing your three months introductory period and $500 after completing 6 months. Previous or current employees are ineligible.* An Early Childhood Education Associate Teacher Permit is required* Knowledge of implementation of child care programs* Knowledge of the needs of children from low income and ethnically diverse backgrounds* Knowledge of procedures in a child care setting* Knowledge of principles of Early Childhood nutrition* Knowledge of child abuse reporting laws* Ability to work as a team member* Ability to work with minimum supervision* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative workplace relationships* Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with people of diverse backgrounds and interests* Ability to evacuate children in a safe manner during an emergency and be able to lift up to 50 pounds* Qualify for CPR Certificate and First Aid* Must pass State Criminal Record clearance* Must show proof of a negative TB test within the last 60 days* Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required* Willingness to work variable hours/shiftsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Responsible for the operation of all classroom and playground activities.* Maintaining the health and safety of the classroom and playground environment.* Responsible for the implementation of a bilingual, multicultural curriculum, which includes health and nutrition; special events; and the motor, cognitive, social and affective skills.* Maintain required records and documents as required by the State Department of Education, Community Care Licensing and the Child & Adult Care Food Program.* Conduct daily health screening of children.* Assessing and meeting the individual needs of each child.* Distribute medication as prescribed by physician.* Follow up on any special needs of each child in the program.* Establish effective communication with parents to facilitate a sense of partnership* Provide parents with information on their child's development and on educational and community resources, discipline and parent service activities as needed and when conducting parent conferences at least twice a year.* Generate parent involvement in all aspects of the program.* Maintain a flow of communication with other staff to foster program efficiency and effectiveness.* Attend meetings and training as required.* Perform CPR and First Aid if necessary* Respond and take charge in an emergency: evacuate children in a safe manner, check the building and provide other emergency services as needed until help arrives.* Participate in the evaluation process for staff and program* Maintain confidentiality as required by law and CANV policies.* Comply with established CANV procedures.* Perform other related duties as assigned.Job Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Health insurance* Life insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Day shift* Monday to FridayEducation:* Associate (Required)Experience:* Childcare/preschool: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:* CA Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (Required)Work Location: In person
