Summary: The position of Associate Systems Administrator includes updating hardware and software packages, revising documentation, installing computer and network systems, monitoring computer system backups, and other tasks as needed by the Ops team. Essential Responsibilities:
Work with the Ops team to get tasks completed, as assigned. Maintains issues within Jira for both user tickets as well as IT projects. Ability to manage and prioritize workload. Document technical information for different systems processes. Install new server hardware and software per standardized documentation. Administers physical and virtual servers, and network hardware. Regularly confers with programmers, analysts, other systems administrators, regarding current and prospective system changes and future needs. Communicate technical information both verbally and in written form with a wide variety of individuals and groups. Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Help maintain server and desktop updates and patch levels. Helps maintain Application and OS deployments. You will be expected to perform in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements. You will be responsible for following safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and using good safety judgment. You will be expected to report all unsafe activities and conditions to the Supervisor and/or Safety Representative. Minimum Qualifications: Education/Training:Associate degree in a technical discipline such as systems administration, information systems or related field, or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or similar certification, or equivalent work experience. 1-2 years of experience in a mid-size local area network environment administering and analyzing network systems, preferred. Experience/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of hardware and software installation, testing and operation; knowledge of application of computer software for automating highly diverse agency/organization activities. Knowledge of the principles of data communications and telecommunications. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP-IP, server/PC hardware, backups, user and group management, firewall administration, remote access, and general network/information security. Knowledge of local area network concepts and fundamentals. Scripting and other automation capabilities a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with a great attitude and be a team player. Work Schedule/Hours: Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position may incur on-call responsibilities outside regular business hours. Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment. Projects and task may occasionally require working in the manufacturing or laboratory environments.
