The Position

Arrowhead seeks an Associate Scientist to join the BioAssays team in San Diego. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop laboratory skills within a progressive, state-of-the-art, and diverse environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform in vitro and ex vivo studies to support drug discovery and development across various diseases.
  • Conduct gene expression and functional analyses using various methods.
  • Review and apply relevant scientific literature to troubleshoot and resolve project issues.
  • Present research findings to project teams and prepare study reports.
  • Maintain high productivity in the lab and perform critical experiments.
  • Collaborate with multiple program teams as needed.
    • Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, or related fields.
  • Experience with RNA isolation, qPCR, mammalian cell culture, transfection, cell-based assays, ELISA, and Western blotting.
  • Strong data collection, analysis, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Effective teamwork skills and ability to collaborate across research groups and with senior management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, matrixed environment.

    • Familiarity with data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and Prism.

    California pay range: $65,000—$75,000 USD. Arrowhead offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits. All applicants must have authorization to work in the US.
