Research Associate
Overview
Join a collaborative, fast‑paced laboratory contributing to impactful research through hands‑on work in primary cell culture, organ perfusion, and lab operations. Work under GLP/GMP guidelines in academic or industry settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Isolate primary cells from human or/or animal tissues, including subsets like PBMCs and immune cells; support organ perfusion workflows.
- Culture, maintain, differentiate, and cryopreserve primary cells and relevant cell lines under sterile conditions.
- Characterize cells using flow cytometry, immunophenotyping, and cell-based assays.
- Develop, execute, and optimize assay protocols and QC workflows.
- Maintain accurate records: experimental notebooks, batch logs, and sample inventories.
- Support laboratory operations: reagent preparation, equipment calibration/maintenance, safety compliance, inventory control.
- Collaborate with team members to communicate findings, troubleshoot, and streamline processes.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- Entry-level to mid-level experience in primary cell culture, organ perfusion, or tissue processing is appropriate depending on seniority.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in aseptic technique, cell culture, and cryopreservation of primary cells.
- Experience in flow cytometry workflows: instrument operation, panel design, QC, and data analysis.
- Competence in assay development and execution (cell-based assays, immunoassays, viability or differentiation assays).
Regulatory / Process Skills
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Experience working with SOPs and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Soft Skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail; ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical documentation and team updates.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
