Description

  • Monitors the fitness-for-service, safety and reliability of plant fixed equipment through thickness condition monitoring programs and visual inspections.
  • Supports inspection data management for fixed equipment and piping.
  • Supports and stewards cost-effective recommendations for repairs, materials selection, and other remedial action in support of long-term reliability.
  • Audits data in PCMS frequently for accuracy of critical fields.
  • Develops piping and fixed equipment inspection plans, in accordance with API 510, API 570 and API 653, using rule-based and risk-based methodology.
  • Selects cost-effective inspection techniques to provide reliable assessment of refinery equipment remaining life.
  • Interprets and evaluates inspection and NDE data.
  • Evaluates corrosion monitoring data, predicts equipment life and adjusts inspection intervals as required.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records during inspections so they can be transferred to the permanent files.
  • Participates in the planning and records management of temporary repairs.
  • Reviews design/fabrication drawings and performs fabrication shop/field inspections to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Works to develop and implement work processes, manage all pertinent records related to daily maintenance, turnaround, and capital projects, and ensure they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Ensures data in PCMS data fields and electronic CAD folders are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Ensures modifications and changes made to existing records maintained within the Inspection Database are documented in a complete and traceable manner.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Refinery inspection or NDE experience preferred.
  • PCMS/IDMS experience preferred.
  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Corpus Christi Refineries, required.

All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). It is Valero's policy that employees must wear this card at all times while working at the refinery. Please review eligibility criteria at .
