Position Summary

The Associate Packaging Specialist is accountable for the definition, documentation, and implementation of packaging solutions in accordance with the Nestle packaging policy, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards. The role encompasses SAP packaging integration, operational enhancement, and the introduction of cutting-edge and environmentally sustainable packaging solutions that deliver added value to our patients, consumers, and customers. Additionally, the Associate Specialist will offer technical support, guidance, and expertise to Operators, Supervisors, and other relevant departments in the execution of packaging-related projects. This position necessitates a high level of responsibility, cross-functional collaboration, decision-making process, leadership skills, and self-reliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Innovation & Renovation Packaging Projects
    • Deliver results by working in a collaborative, cross-functions environment with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality/R&D and Sales/Marketing to manage the Material Qualification process.
    • Support the creation of packaging specifications into SAP with specification and bill of materials creation.
    • Act as a packaging subject matter expert in support of packaging initiatives that will result in new product introduction, increased productivity, higher quality and improved costs.
    • Ensure Safety, Quality, and Compliance of our packaging materials; Ensure full compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies regarding packaging materials, operations and quality standards, including Doc validation and documentation for food contact packaging.
    • Recommend and lead packaging development programs that reduce distribution costs or damage and provide competitive advantage.
    • Communicate with manager and leadership on a regular basis regarding status of project work, budgetary concern and propose general direction.
    • May be assigned as project manager on specific projects as needed
  • Ensure Packaging System Performance & Productivity
    • Deliver technical support on installation and commissioning of new packaging equipment, line layout modifications.
    • Provide front line support for factories.
    • Make sure of knowledge transfer related to packaging mastership to eliminate the root cause of assistance requests.
    • Ability to learn and understand aseptic process and packaging
  • Sustainability
    • Understand existing local waste management streams to prioritize sustainable solution are development.
    • Close internal and external collaboration to develop optimized long-term solution.
    • Introducing and delivering new and revised packaging concepts and processes focusing on environmental footprint, functionality and consumer value
Experience & Education Requirements

BS degree in Packaging Science/Engineering or related field

0 3 years of relevant packaging industry experience as related to the food and beverage industry

SAP experience

Clear understanding of packaging specifications, design, materials, equipment and systems

Working knowledge of project life cycle deliverables, contract and schedule

Understanding of industry standards of Regulatory Compliance and Food Safety

Highly motivated, critical thinker, goal oriented and easily adapts to change

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high performing, and inclusive environment

Exceptional organizational skills & ability to manage multiple projects and assignments

Strong communication skills: interpersonal, presentation, oral and written

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Power Point, Word, Project

Preferred: SAP & CAPE Palletization Program

The approximate pay range for this position is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
