The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Athens is accepting applications for a full-time Associate Instructor of Medium Heavy Equipment at the PIE Center in Cleveland, TN. The position involves working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with a thirty-minute lunch each day.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education with credentials in related field. A comparable combination of education and work experience may be considered.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in the Diesel Mechanics field, preferably within the last five (5) years.
- Strong hands-on technical background in preventative maintenance, diesel engines, electrical/electronics, brakes, drive train, suspension and steering, and heating-ventilation and air-conditioning.
- Must have current ASE Certified Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician credential, along with ASE T1-T8 Certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students, colleges, industry, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, audio/visual equipment, and software.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Passion for education and desire to help students achieve their goals.
- Willingness to stay current in the diesel mechanic profession and maintain certifications.
- Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
