Position / Title: Associate General CounselPretium Pretium is a specialized alternative investment management firm focused on U.S. residential real estate, residential credit, and corporate credit with more than $50 billion of assets under management. Pretium has built an integrated analytical and operational ecosystem within the U.S. housing, residential credit, and corporate and structured credit markets, and believes that its insight and experience within these markets give the Firm its strategic advantage.PositionWe are seeking an Associate General Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team in New York, NY. This position will report to the Chief Business Affairs and Legal Officer, and is subject to the firm's hybrid working policy (in office three days per week).Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders, provide legal advice, and manage external counsel on a wide range of matters arising in the operation of a large, SEC-registered investment firm
• Lead strategic initiatives, manage workstreams, review contracts, and create best practices in a collaborative, team-oriented manner
• Be cognizant of legal developments and help ensure the firm meets or exceeds legal and regulatory standards and remains informed of market practice

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant corporate law experience
• JD with strong academic record and training from a nationally recognized law firm
• Prior experience within investment management preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels
• Excellent communicator with strong contract review and drafting skills
• Ability to successfully negotiate on behalf of the firm
• Self-motivated professional with a positive attitude, proactive approach, and ability to work independently
