Job Description
The Enterprise Innovation group works side-by-side with the AbbVie executive team on many of the most pressing issues facing the organization, both in the short term and long term. Work from this team will have a direct impact on the future success of AbbVie.
As Associate Director, Transformation, you will partner with leaders across AbbVie to optimize the value of our portfolio of current and future assets. This role seeks a high-performing individual with demonstrated interest and expertise in the biopharma industry and a strong desire to advance our strategic agenda and support mission-critical initiatives that will make a difference for AbbVie's patients. The innovation group will provide high-profile, high-impact projects and professional development experiences spanning the entire drug development and commercialization value chain.
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end strategic innovation and execution on an AbbVie Enterprise Critical asset, partnering with the Asset Strategy Team and content-focused deliverable teams. Focus areas include strategic planning, scenario evaluation, and data-driven problem solving across drug development stages.
- Lead strategic innovation and execution on key commercial questions in collaboration with commercial leadership, brand teams, and cross-functional stakeholders, covering launch planning, portfolio positioning, HCP engagement, patient activation, and market access strategy.
- Support strategic initiatives addressing mission-critical questions to position AbbVie for future success.
- Lead modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, supporting research, analytics, and providing pragmatic recommendations for management.
- Monitor external trends relevant to the enterprise and advise on strategic responses.
- Assist in communicating our strategy across AbbVie.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.
- Minimum of 4+ years with Bachelor's, 3+ with Master's, or 2+ with PhD in a fast-paced environment such as management consulting, pharmaceutical R&D, or manufacturing.
- Experience managing large projects within a complex matrixed organization, either as an external consultant or internal lead.
- Ability to present data and metrics effectively to executive leadership for better business outcomes.
- Proven team player with facilitative leadership skills in a global, cross-functional environment, with influence and stakeholder alignment capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex issues from multiple perspectives.
- This role requires a hybrid work model with three days onsite in AbbVie's offices.
