Associate Director, Research and EvalutionPOSITION TITLE: Associate Director, Research and Evaluation DEPARTMENT: Community Impact REPORTS TO: Director of Research and Evaluations TYPE: Full Time, Exempt Salary- $77,528 - $84,219 United Way of Greater Charlotte is boldly investing in what if. We believe that by challenging the what ifs and by moving together in hope, we can build thriving communities. United Way is seeking an Associate Director to join United Way's Community Impact team. The Associate Director will work independently and as a member of a team to plan and execute research and evaluation projects, including designing and planning evaluations; collecting, compiling, validating, and analyzing data; as well as designing and producing charts, graphs, briefs, presentations, and reports that present findings and recommendations. The Associate Director will be committed to delivering high-impact and actionable research that informs, guides, and influences practice. An ideal candidate would have strong quantitative and qualitative skills, prior experience in community-based participatory research, and experience with research projects that involve evaluation design, implementation, analysis, and dissemination. Responsibilities: --- Plans and implements all phases of research and evaluation projects, including design, quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting --- Supports data collection and development of necessary infrastructure and/or systems that support evaluation and/or continuous quality improvement --- Applies statistical and qualitative methods to analyze trends, outcomes, and impact --- Maintains data integrity and accuracy throughout research processes --- Translates findings into actionable insights, recommendations, and best practices --- Proactively serves as translator among multiple stakeholder groups, bridging the gap between research and practice --- Supports analyses and reporting related to grants, ensuring accuracy, compliance with funder requirements, and alignment with organizational standards --- Contributes to building organizational capacity for data-driven decision-making --- Leads research and evaluation team meetings to coordinate projects, share progress, and align on priorities and next steps --- Works closely with representatives from the nonprofit sector, and local government to ensure that all voices and perspectives are incorporated into the execution of evaluation efforts --- Collaborates with United Way staff to effectively communicate results and enhance story-telling both internally and externally --- Proactively learns and grows professionally through various avenues, but not limited to: online courses, in-person classes, seminars, conferences, books, etc. --- Serves as a proactive and contributing member to the United Way team, performing duties and providing support outside of the functions listed above --- Represents United Way in local and national meetings on issues relating to data, measurement, and evaluation as necessary What You'll Need: Education, Experience, and Skills --- Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Public Health, Psychology, Public Policy, Education or related field --- Doctorate or master's degree is preferred --- Significant relevant work experience, with a focus on research, evaluation, and capacity building in the social-sector --- Experience tackling social-sector issues using a mix of quantitative and qualitative research and analysis techniques to assess impact and promote continuous improvement --- Skilled project manager, able to drive project scope, set and track to timelines, and effectively engage others to make progress, as well as manage across multiple projects with competing priorities --- Prior experience with Community-based Participatory Research --- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint --- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively plan, execute, and oversee multiple initiatives --- Ability to present information and ideas clearly and persuasively to executive teams, volunteers, and the board of directors --- Demonstrated success in collaborative work environments, group facilitation, and engaging leadership volunteers --- Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills --- Adaptability to change, with the ability to work independently and apply strong problem-solving skills --- Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsUnited Way of Greater Charlotte is committed to having a workforce that reflects our entire community.
