Job Requirements Starting Salary: $100,000 yearly We are seeking a strategic, enthusiastic and driven sales leader to serve as Associate Director of Catering Sales. This position plays a critical role in leading a large and growing team to achieve ambitious catering service sales goals for Turning Stone Resort Casino as we open our sixth hotel, The Crescent, and double our conference space with the debut of The Grand Expo in 2027. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, master relationship builder, and highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Your day-to-day as the Associate Director of Catering Sales
  • Directs the development and execution of sales upsell strategies for Turning Stone Resort Casino in partnership with the Director of Sales across food and beverage, ancillary services, event technology, golf, spa, entertainment and retail.
  • Leads and mentors a team of Services Managers, CS Concierge, and Billing Specialist, as well as manages select key vertical accounts as assigned.
  • Regularly seeks out creative ways to sell the full scope of services offered by Turning Stone and other Turning Stone Enterprises to event clients Collaborates cross-functionally with internal departments including Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Events, and Operations to optimize total event revenue.
  • Establishes and nurtures strong client relationships that drive repeat and referral business through lead generation and drawing on resources for efficient response times.
  • Monitors market trends, competitive set performance, and business intelligence to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Delivers clear, consistent, and motivational communication to the team and stakeholders that continuously drive results and raise awareness for the Turning Stone Resort Casino brand and its quality offerings. Overseeing comprehensive execution of booked events from pre-event consultation, on-site event participation, detailing and executing the event, as well as post-event guest satisfaction follow up is critical to this role.
  • Must be an attention-to-detail guru! This role requires supervises and mentoring team members across departments for all BEOs, Group Resumes, and required diagrams for functions.
  • Leads the team that ensures accurate and timely billing clients. .
  • Assists Director of Sales with report analysis, annual business planning and budgeting, as well as identifying process improvements and goal setting.
  • Represent the property at industry events, trade shows, and client-facing meetings as determined.
  • Expert in understanding data to build the team's funnel working with Strategic Analytics and internal resources along with the Director of Sales. From routine report analysis to annual business planning and budgeting, identifying opportunities and process improvements are a daily part of goal
Work Experience Key attributes we're seeking in an Associate Director of Catering Sales:
  • Bachelor's Degree Must in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related field highly preferred.Must have a minimum of five years of direct sales experience. Successful candidates typically possess 7+ years of increasing responsibility in a fast-growing sales environment.
  • Successfully leading / supervising large teams within a complex hospitality / casino enterprise is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Successful candidates also have a strong understanding of dynamic pricing, hotel revenue yield management.
  • Organization is a key attribute along with the ability to meet deadlines and handle difficult negotiation situations.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule; including weekends and holidays and travel for trade shows, conventions and other client networking meetings.
  • Knowledge and experience using various office software programs: Microsoft Office, Delphi.
