Proskauer is seeking a highly motivated and creative thinker with experience in business development to join our New York office. The Associate Director of Business Development – Industry and M&A will collaborate with firm lawyers to plan, develop and implement business development and marketing strategies focused on the firm's key industries such as sports, media and entertainment, and technology. Additionally, this role will be supporting the firm's Private Equity and M&A practice, which serves those key industries and others.
The Associate Director will work closely with partners and members of the broader marketing and business development team to expand existing client relationships and generate new work. An important part of this role will be to build strong ties and trust with practice group heads and other key stakeholders within the firm, by providing strategic advice and counsel to lawyers in relevant practice areas. Furthermore, the Associate Director will need to have a deep understanding of the market for legal services within the M&A, private equity, and transactional space, as well as an awareness of how these different groups respond to and drive business development opportunities. Proskauer is seeking a candidate who is going to be able to be proactive with generating leads and opportunities, as well as someone who can collaborate with other functions (communications, research, etc.) to position these groups as leaders in their respective sectors.
This role will report to the Head of Business Development.

This position will require physical presence in Proskauer's offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $270,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
