Adhere to all NCAA, conference, and institutional and departmental guidelines and policies. Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with all constituent groups, including and prioritizing student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the University community.
Responsibilities include:
Educate, track, and assess eligibility and compliance certification for all student-athletes; educate and assess all coaches and staff regarding NCAA compliance certification (25%).Athletic staff supervision (15%).Assist in the hiring of coaches and athletic administrators.Serve as sports administrator for various sport coaches.Responsible for NCAA and Department of Education required reporting, generating reports, and submitting grant applications to the Empire 8 and NCAA (15%).Oversee student-athlete academic development/standing, disciplinary matters, and discipline committee (15%).Assist in the daily operation of the department, develop and interpret policies related to athletics; serve as a representative for campus committees (10%).Facilitate community service projects, alumni relations, and special events for student-athletes (10%).Act as primary liaison with student life, residential life, and academic offices (5%).Game management and other administrative tasks as assigned by the department (5%).Support all home games when schedule permits; complete yearly NCAA rules test.Qualifications:
- Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with students, staff, alumni, and friends of the University.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and the ability to learn other related computer programs.
Additional requirements:
- Direct supervision of 11 sport programs head coaches, including part-time coaches.
- Must be able to work weekends, travel, drive rental vehicles, and be away from home for extended periods.
- Extensive weekends and evenings are required.
