Job Summary: This position reports to the Executive Director for Academic Advising. It plays a key role in East Tennessee State University's central advisement team, supporting a decentralized advisement model across six colleges and a central advisement center. Responsibilities include designing and conducting training, organizing professional development, maintaining the advisement website, and supporting electronic advisement systems like EAB Navigate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of best practices in academic advising and policy support
  • Experience with student information systems (e.g., Banner), Degree Works, and success management systems
  • Understanding of ETSU policies, curriculum, and student services
  • Effective communication skills, especially in training
  • Data analysis and reporting skills
  • Leadership and teamwork abilities
  • Website design and maintenance skills with IT support
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • At least 3 years of experience in academic support services or related field
  • 1 year of professional advising or counseling experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in student services, counseling, education, or related field
  • 3 years as an effective college-level academic advisor
  • Experience with advising technologies and project management
Salary:

$54,645 - $65,000, commensurate with education and experience
