Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR-NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION to participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of orientation programs for freshmen, transfer students and their parent/family members. To manage, supervise, and advise the Orientation Leaders (OLs) and the Orientation Leader Coordinators (OLCs). To assist with the administration of Parent/Family Orientation activities and various office administrative duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of a mandatory New Student Orientation program for undergraduate freshmen and transfer students. Assists with the administration of Parent Orientation as needed.

Coordinates the recruitment, selection, training and supervision of student OLs and OLCs.

Monitors monies budgeted for the OL program.

Represents the office, division and the University on committees and at professional meetings relative to New Student Orientation.

Remains knowledgeable and up to date on current trends and best practices in New Student and Parent Orientation.

Assists with various office administrative duties.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience. Master's degree preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
