Develops and applies technical procedures, standards, and instructions which promote a clean and safe campus environment. Trains and evaluate custodial supervisors, team leads, and custodians. Prepares cleaning schedules, assigns overtime, records equalization and ensures coverage for special events. Assists in campus snow removal operations, by ensuring buildings are accessible. Oversee custodial budgets and orders necessary supplies and cleaning products. Initiates and maintains various vendor contracts while complying with all Commonwealth and State System procurement and purchasing rules and regulations. Investigates and recommends technological and equipment upgrades intended to enhance custodial operations. Serves as a key liaison between Facilities and the campus community. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-7 years of recent experience managing a diverse workforce in custodial operations, facilities operations or related field which include budgetary oversight, employee performance reviews, and developing cleaning schedules.
- Possession of a Cleaning Management Institute Certification Supervisor Level or the ability to obtain within 6 months (employer will pay for if candidate does not possess)
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel/Access and demonstrated ability to quickly learn other software programs
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years in a managerial role with knowledge of cleaning procedures, hiring practices, fiscal management, employee training, and equipment/supplies.
- Professional certification within Custodial or Facilities field such as APPA CEFP, CFM, etc.
- Experience managing a diverse workforce of more than 20 employees
- Experience managing a unionized workforce
- Experience writing and delivering employee performance evaluations
