Description of Work Unit

CSUVetCEThis position serves to direct the post-graduate veterinary continuing education (CE) programs, operated as CSUVetCE, for the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. CSUVetCE operates from the state-of-the-art CE facilities within the C. Wayne McIlwraith Translational Medicine Institute ( TMI ). These facilities include 11,000+ square feet of dedicated CE space in addition to shared use of TMI's 6655sf Grand Event Hall with 2070sf outdoor terrace, 3246sf 3rd Floor auditorium, 4556sf standing large animal examination / teaching space and more. Future growth of the program is projected to expand beyond the TMI facilities.

Launched as an idea in 2018, CSUVetCE is now the largest provider of university-based veterinary continuing education (CE) in North America (if not the world). Between our public-facing CE courses (www.CSUVetCE.com ) and our private, customized courses for practice network groups and specialty organizations, we annually provide more than 100 in-person CE training courses on more than 200 calendar days to more than 2600 veterinarians from around the US and the world. Our growing library of “anywhere/anytime” online courses has further expanded our global reach. Our in-person and online courses span from the entry-skill level veterinarian to the advanced sub-specialist and currently cover canine, feline, equine and exotic species on topics such as general surgery, critical care and emergency case management, ultrasonography, endoscopy, laparoscopy, ophthalmology, arthroscopy, wound management, lameness evaluation, orthopedic coaptation, orthopedic surgery, dentistry, reproduction and more.

Required Job Qualifications

  • DVM (or international equivalent) with 5+ years of veterinary CE experience OR DVM (or international equivalent) with 5+ years of progressive organizational leadership roles OR B.A. of business administration/organizational leadership (or equivalent) plus 5+ years of progressive leadership roles in the veterinary CE industry OR MS of education / instructional design (or equivalent) plus 5+ years of progressive leadership roles in the veterinary CE industry
  • Record of successful team leadership

Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Master of Business Administration ( MBA )
