Job Information:

This is a PART-TIME salaried position. The position requires working at least 25-30 hours per week on ministry tasks. Any additional hours should be approved in advance by the Senior Pastor. The employee should also allocate appropriate time weekly for family, personal growth, rest, and refreshment.

The Associate Director - Children's Ministries reports directly to the Senior Pastor/Session, keeping them informed and seeking counsel as needed, primarily during weekly staff meetings. They will assist the Senior Pastor in fulfilling the church's vision and mission.

Desired Personal Characteristics:

The candidate should be committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ, welcoming children and families, and helping them to know, love, and serve God and others. They should be capable of developing and implementing effective children's ministry programs and recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers.

Education:

A minimum of a high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Equivalent work experience and a passion for working with children and families are also valued. Candidates pursuing degrees in children's, family ministry, or discipleship are encouraged to apply.

Primary Duties:

  • Work alongside the Children's Ministry Council to implement programs such as:
    • Children's Church (Preschool - 5th Grade): Coordinate curriculum and staffing for three weekly services.
    • Sunday Evening Children's Choir and JAM: Plan lessons, organize setup, and manage supplies.
    • Volunteer scheduling for Children's Church and JAM, coordinating with worship and nursery teams.
    • Plan summer activities and coordinate holiday and special events (Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Trunk-or-Treat, etc.).
    • Coordinate summer children's camp registration and planning.
    • Plan and oversee Vacation Bible School.

    2. Assist with Children's Sunday School administration, including curriculum and supplies.

    3. Support local public school partnerships through outreach activities.

    4. Lead chapel services at Bethel Learning Center, coordinating with the center's director.

    5. Manage the Children's Check-In System, including volunteer training and technology updates.
