Associate Developer, Project Development - New York City. Remote NYC.

174 Power Global, headquartered in Irvine, California, is a member of Hanwha Group. 174 Power Global designs, builds and manages renewable energy solutions and is expanding into data centers to secure and enable clean/renewable powered sites for data center development.

Position will act as business developer for specific U.S. and/or international projects. Responsible for assisting all phases of solar project development, including identification, evaluation, and realization of projects. This position reports to the VP of Project Development or other senior management and may travel up to 50% of the time.

• Plan and execute business development opportunities from identification through completion.
• Identify and secure renewable power customers and/or transactions and manage the pipeline of prospects.
• Work with Senior Management to identify and develop opportunities to acquire or develop new power facilities in U.S. and/or international markets.
• Interface with internal Hanwha resources and external consultants to ensure project viability through analysis and project management.
• Participate in due diligence as appropriate.
• Serve as liaison between project development and financial analysis teams to ensure proper deal structure and economic assumptions.
• Set up detailed schedules for tasks and milestones; monitor milestones and prepare routine progress reports.
• Prepare presentations for Senior Management as requested.
• Develop and maintain relationships with U.S. and international industry contacts, including key business and government relationships.
• Obtain supporting data including competitive intelligence on market opportunities for new projects.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory/financial incentives, power pricing and financing trends.
• Prepare project budgets and assist in budget reviews.
• Understand permitting requirements and obtain necessary development permits for solar projects.
• Focus on negotiating interconnection agreements with utilities across markets.
• Work with internal teams to negotiate contract terms (project finance, engineering, project management, procurement and legal).
• Adhere to company policies and ethics; perform all other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Development.

• Preferred candidate location: New York City
• 1+ years of experience in renewable energy development, particularly solar PV, in U.S. or international power origination or related fields
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or similar (Graduate degree preferred)
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
• Commercial negotiation experience with strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Experience in managing the solar energy development process
• Knowledge of renewable energy markets, regulations, and trends; ability to build relationships with off-takers and industry leaders
• Proven track record closing renewable energy deals
• Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with leadership experience in solar/renewable energy
• Strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
