Job Description :

An Associate Asset Manager in multifamily housing plays a crucial role in enhancing the financial and operational performance of residential properties with multiple units. This entry-level to mid-level position typically involves analyzing property performance, developing strategies to maximize revenue and control expenses, and collaborating with various teams and external partners to achieve investment goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Financial analysis and reporting: Building financial models (pro formas) in Excel to assess asset performance, leasing trends, and potential development scenarios. Conducting property and market-level financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and investment strategies. Preparing reports for investors and senior leadership on asset performance, cash flow projections, and capital improvement plans.

  • Operational oversight: Monitoring property operations and working closely with property managers to ensure optimal performance, resident satisfaction, and compliance with regulations and company policies. Conducting property inspections and collaborating with property management teams, contractors, and third-party vendors for maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements.

  • Market analysis and strategy development: Gathering and interpreting market data, trends, and property performance indicators to identify opportunities, mitigate risk, and optimize asset value. Developing and executing strategic business plans for each asset.

  • Investment activities: Assisting with potential acquisitions, including due diligence and closing processes, as well as refinancing and disposition recommendations.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, real estate, or a related field.
  • Three years' experience in residential asset management including two years affordable housing experience preferred.
  • Understanding of real estate development, leasing, and asset management principles and practices.
  • Experience managing projects and providing comprehensive financial reports; Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and adhere to deadlines. Or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill, and abilities have been attained.
