TCPR is seeking an Associate Account Director with a minimum of six years of experience to support its current client roster. An ideal candidate will have previous experience and/or a personal interest in the interior design, architecture, luxury lifestyle industries, or adjacent categories, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to grow with the company.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop creative and strategic communication strategies to appropriately position a range of home/design and lifestyle brands in the media marketplace.
  • Retain a network of senior-level media contacts across print and digital categories, as well as bloggers, to ensure successful placements on behalf of clients.
  • Secure top-tier, high-level media opportunities, including brand/founder profiles and feature stories in home and design, fashion (men's and women's), accessories, lifestyle, consumer and business outlets.
  • Independently lead client accounts on behalf of agency with minimal oversight.
  • Play leading role in the creation of communications plans and goals and management of effective timelines.
  • Serve as client lead, addressing client issues authoritatively, thoughtfully and effectively.
  • Provide strategic advisement to clients on a regular basis as related to specific opportunities as well as their general businesses.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving both media outreach plans.
  • Participate in and/or lead brainstorm sessions to develop strategic/creative thinking for clients.
  • Review and approve all press materials – press releases, pitches, recaps, etc. – and other client-facing materials – agendas, status reports, clipbooks, etc.
  • Oversee and manage a team across East and West Coast offices on all daily activities related to client management.
  • Ability to lead client events, previews and leverage client presence at industry shows and conferences.
  • Liaise with senior leadership on select new business activities, including participation in initial meetings/conversations, proposal development and onboarding.
  • Supervise staff by motivating, mentoring and coaching, consistently providing feedback and holding them accountable.
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills.
Requirements:
  • B.S/B.A in Public Relations/Communications or related field.
  • Minimum six years of experience at a PR agency.
  • Relationships within the home/design, lifestyle, fashion as well as digital and regional media on both a national and regional level required.
  • Experience in client management and oversight.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking and verbal and written communications skills; team-oriented attitude.
  • Creative, efficient, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Solution-oriented with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Proactive with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative, yet fast-paced, environment.
  • Flexible, driven, curious and passionate about the design industry.
  • Excellent writing skills with attention to detail. Experience managing and mentoring a junior team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of PR databases/tools such as Cision, PR Newswire/Businesswire.
