CMI, a leading technology-driven premium packaging supplier to the restaurant industry, is seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager. The Opportunity:

CMI is looking for a highly organized and proactive Assistant Warehouse Manager to support daily warehouse operations while playing a key role in leading our BRC (British Retail Consortium) certification process. This individual will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and leadership team to maintain operational excellence across receiving, inventory, fulfillment, and shipping — while also developing and implementing the processes required to meet BRC standards.

Responsibilities:

Order Fulfillment:

• Assist the order fulfillment process, ensuring timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders.

BRC Certification Support:

• Lead efforts to prepare the warehouse for BRC certification, including documentation, process development, and internal audits
• Ensure all warehouse activities are aligned with BRC standards for safety, traceability, hygiene, and quality
• Maintain accurate records and SOPs in support of audit readiness

Warehouse Operations:

• Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations: receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping
• Support the implementation of best practices to improve warehouse efficiency, safety, and accuracy.

Inventory & Order Accuracy

• Help manage inventory levels and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and minimize waste
• Ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipment of orders

Process Improvement & Documentation:

• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance warehouse procedures
• Assist in maintaining detailed process documentation to support operational consistency and audit compliance

System Support (Odoo ERP):

• Leverage our Odoo ERP system for inventory tracking, reporting, and process automation
• Collaborate with IT and operations teams to resolve issues and improve system usage

Team Support & Leadership:

• Assist with training warehouse staff on procedures, safety, and BRC standards
• Foster a culture of accountability, attention to detail, and continuous improvement

Data-Driven Decision Making:

• Utilize data analytics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for optimization across all areas of warehouse operations.

Inventory Control:

• Help manage inventory control processes to ensure accuracy, minimize waste, and optimize stock levels to meet customer demand.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse management and logistics, with a proven track record of success in leading and optimizing complex warehouse operations.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management best practices, inventory control methods, and order fulfillment processes.
• Expertise in using data analytics to drive operational improvements and solve complex problems.
• Proven ability to implement and manage warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
• Experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Location:

• Drakes Branch, VA. This position requires daily attendance in the office. Occasional travel to warehouses in Texas is required.
