Job DescriptionThe Assistant Superintendent plays a critical support role in ensuring the successful execution of industrial construction projects, working closely with the Superintendent to oversee daily site operations. Key responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors and trades, maintaining a clean and safe job site, tracking progress against the schedule, and assisting with quality control inspections. This individual helps enforce safety protocols, monitors material deliveries, and ensures work is performed according to plans and specifications. They also contribute to daily reporting, site logistics, and issue resolution, acting as a vital link between the field team and project management to keep projects on track and within scope.Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Support the Superintendent in managing day-to-day operations on active industrial construction sites
  • Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to ensure efficient workflow
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized job site in compliance with safety protocols and regulations
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure alignment with project schedules, plans, and specifications
  • Help conduct quality control inspections and verify that work meets established standards
  • Track and document daily progress, including labor, equipment, and material usage
  • Assist with managing site logistics, material deliveries, and equipment coordination
  • Identify and report potential issues or delays, supporting timely resolution
  • Act as a liaison between the field and office teams, ensuring clear and consistent communication
  • Participate in project meetings, safety briefings, and walkthroughs as needed

The Successful ApplicantIn return for a competitive compensation package, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • 2+ years of experience supporting commercial or industrial construction projects in a field-based role - essential
  • Familiarity with ground-up construction, particularly tilt-wall or pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects - preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate subcontractors and site activities - essential
  • Ability to work onsite daily at active job sites across the Greater Houston area - essential
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings, site logistics, and project sequencing - preferred
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices and willingness to enforce safety protocols - essential
  • Exposure to construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) - preferred
  • Eagerness to learn from senior field leadership and grow into greater site management responsibility - essential
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field - preferred, but not required
