Job Description

The primary role of the Assistant Manager/Manager in Training is to develop and demonstrate the skills necessary to successfully oversee the operation of a Maplefields Store in the absence of a manager. This individual is also to assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day activities associated with the store and the development and training of store sales associates, while ensuring that company standards are met at all times.

Examples of Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training individuals to provide exceptional customer service as members of the Maplefields team.
• Coordinate and participate in all functions and duties associated with operating a convenience store. Monitor cash drawers, explain overages and shortages, complete financial bookkeeping and paperwork, and provide shift coverage as needed.
• Create a positive work environment by motivating, encouraging, and training store staff.
• Implement and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure the store and storefront are clean, well-stocked, organized. Follow all company policies and procedures, and communicate issues with upper management.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, displays are attractive, correctly priced, and safely displayed. Manage price change requests, understand monthly promotions and signage, and enforce vendor policies and procedures, including timely invoice processing.
• Follow environmental procedures, train staff on spill response, safety, security, and incident reporting following company protocols.

Availability:

Shifts vary by location and are based on business needs. Schedules are flexible and should be discussed with your manager. This position requires limited self-provided transportation for business functions.
