The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. This position manages the store during the Store Manager's absence and leads team members in customer service.
Essential Job Functions
Lead the team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, ensuring team members execute customer service programs effectively.Assist in staffing the retail sales counter during peak hours.Help set team member goals, provide feedback, coaching, and ensure ongoing training.Participate in hiring by recruiting, interviewing, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.Ensure the telephone is answered per company policy.Process online orders, transfers, and ship-to-store requests promptly and contact customers as needed.Manage special orders and outside purchases efficiently using electronic ledgers.Handle customer returns and exchanges professionally and accurately.Ensure merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before leaving the store.Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.Ensure team compliance with policies, schedules, and clock-in/out procedures.Perform opening/closing duties, including securing deposits, locking doors, and managing security systems.Maintain the store building, parking lot, signage, hardware, and vehicles.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS Certification.
Desired: Certified Parts Professional, ASE Certification, multilingual fluency (Spanish preferred).
