ASSISTANT SCHEDULER AND CAREGIVER WHO ARE WE?: StarPoint Home Care, LLC is a local Cincinnati private-pay agency. As a non-profit, StarPoint is dedicated to first meeting the needs of our clients who trust us to help them with daily living activities. StarPoint was originally founded by the Jewish Home of Cincinnati in 2008 to ease the life of senior adults and their family members by connecting them with trusted, experienced home care aides. We are proud to now be under the umbrella of Jewish Family Service of the Cincinnati area, which has been recognized locally and nationally for its devotion to helping older adults maintain independence since 1943.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Scheduler and Caregiver will join a team of leaders committed to helping older adults in our community. Responsibilities will include supporting the Starpoint Director with managing the on-call phone to communicate with fellow caregivers and clients and navigating last minute schedule changes. This involves finding a replacement when an aide calls off or no-shows, while effectively communicating all changes to clients and/or their families in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate scheduling daily with all caregivers and clients
- Update the schedule in Adacare as needed to ensure accurate billing of client hours and payroll for staff
- Work as caregiver to fill open shifts, call-offs, and no-shows as needed
- Manage on-call phone as needed to effectively handle call-offs, no-shows and schedule changes in a timely manner
- Assist with recruiting, scheduling interviews and onboarding new hires
- Elevate all issues to Director and work constructively in resolving matters
- Other administrative duties required for running a home care agency including, but not limited to:
- Update client care plans in Adacare
- Performing other office duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: - Associate's degree in related field OR
- High School Diploma or G.E.D with 5 years of Home Health background experience, required.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work a variety of hours both in office and in the field as a caregiver
- Ability to work in the evening and weekends as needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while managing deadlines, interruptions, unexpected situations, and different personalities.
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic with ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
- Passion for working with older adults including people living with dementia
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have reliable transportation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Candidates must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
- Candidates must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
COMPENSATION: - $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (part-time, 29 hours/week)
- Room for advancement within the agency
