Job Details

Pay Rate: $18.75 per hour

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist the Ranch Manager in overseeing all ranch activities, including fryers and fryer ranch operations.
  • Help direct the grow-out process by setting up the ranch, managing brooding, temperatures, ventilation, mortality, vaccinations, and medications to ensure high-quality conditions.
  • Maintain ranch facilities, coordinating with the maintenance department for needed materials and services.
  • Enforce sanitation procedures, monitor bird health, and report abnormalities.
  • Respond responsibly to emergencies affecting the chickens, day or night.
  • Assist in managing ranch production costs, including labor, fuel, supplies, utilities, medications, and maintenance.
  • Keep accurate records of ranch activities such as feed, mortality, fuel, production, and energy use.
  • Provide training and delegate duties to ranch personnel, adhering to safety, animal welfare, and disease prevention guidelines.
  • Coordinate with feed mill dispatchers, drivers, maintenance personnel, and field supervision regularly.
  • Supervise and direct daily ranch production activities, including setup/cleanup, brooding, vaccination, maintenance, feed delivery, and relief personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Possess supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Good mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (Basic English).
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Willing to respond to alarms and adverse conditions affecting chickens.
  • Flexible to work overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to enforce company standards and policies on the ranch.
  • Willing to work at other ranches or complexes as required.
