Job Description :

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of complex land surveying projects for major NYC agencies, including NYCDDC, NYCDEP, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and the Port Authority. This role combines technical oversight, client coordination, and administrative support to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination - Support the Project Manager in planning and executing survey projects; coordinate with field teams and track progress to meet deadlines.
  • Client & Agency Liaison - Act as a point of contact for clients and agencies; prepare presentations, reports, and resolve project-related inquiries.
  • Documentation & Reporting - Maintain project records, including site plans, surveys, permits, and contracts; review scopes and change orders for accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance - Ensure work meets company, client, and regulatory standards; conduct site visits as needed for quality checks.
  • Scheduling & Budgeting - Assist with schedule creation, monitor timelines, track expenses, and help manage budgets to avoid overruns.
  • Team Collaboration - Work closely with surveyors, engineers, and staff; mentor junior personnel and support team-wide coordination.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; stay up to date with changes in standards and best practices.
  • Issue Resolution - Proactively identify and resolve project issues; mediate conflicts between stakeholders and internal teams.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in land surveying and project management
  • Proficient in GPS, Total Stations, Civil 3D, Carlson, and MicroStation
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
  • PLS or PE license preferred

Compensation:

Salary Range: $100K – $110K, commensurate with experience.
