Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in Houston, TX is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our East Texas team in the greater Houston area. The Assistant Project Manager assists the Project Manager in planning, developing, coordinating, and managing onsite construction engineering activities for each project.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager in ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, contract duration, and project anticipated profits.Assist the Project Manager in adhering to company policies regarding subcontracts (within 45 days), submittals (within 90 days), and project close-out (within 45 days).Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the timely submission of pay applications, invoices, status reports, and cost reports, using scheduling procedures.Organize, distribute, file, and track project documents.Assist the Project Manager with cost reporting and accurate projections for labor reports and cost analysis.Follow company safety guidelines to maintain a safe workplace.Maintain good relationships with the project team, including the design team, subcontractors, and vendors.Assist the Project Manager in mentoring new employees.Provide assistance with MEP/BIM coordination as needed.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field.3-5 years of previous commercial construction experience, including internships, co-ops, apprenticeships, or full-time roles.Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and computer operation skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Strong planning and organizational skills.Valid Texas Driver's License and meeting auto insurability requirements.Effective written and oral communication skills.Ability to work independently without close supervision.Additional Information:
