Job Title:
Assistant Project Manager, Commercial
Summary:
We are looking for a talented and proactive Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our Commercial Construction team. The ideal APM is a quick learner, excellent communicator, extremely well-organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. APMs are the in-office backbone of our construction projects, from pre-construction through completion.
Responsibilities:
- Review all sets of architectural and engineering plans, selections, specs, and issue RFPs to trade partners and subcontractors.
- Compile and level all bids and send out RFPs.
- Prepare and update detailed bid packages, overall budgets, and project schedules.
- Coordinate DOB permitting, insurance, and site safety with MNC's Compliance Team.
- Coordinate sample selections and client approvals.
- Work seamlessly with the onsite Project Manager (PM) to ensure fluid communication, daily logs, follow-ups, and tracking via Procore.
- Ensure all plans, submittals, and shop drawings are well-organized and up-to-date in Procore and onsite.
- Generate purchase orders and change orders after PM approval.
- Coordinate with MNC's Accounting Team to ensure proper invoicing and timely payment.
- Prepare AIA payment requests and collect monthly invoices from subs.
- Compile meeting minutes and issue agendas.
Core Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 1-2 years of construction and/or real estate development experience.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to act proactively and to plan 90+ days ahead.
- Must be willing to work in Brooklyn Monday-Friday.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in construction management
- Procore certification
- Experience with Jonas Premier
In-Office Hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday-Thursday; 9am – 4pm, Friday
