Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) Faculty in Developmental Psychology Miami University

Psychology: Assistant Professor (tenure-track) faculty position in developmental psychology. The role involves establishing an active research program in developmental psychology, teaching courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels, advising students, and contributing service to the university. Appointment begins Fall 2023.

Required: Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field with training in developmental psychology by the start date.

Consideration may be given to candidates who can contribute to ongoing research within the department and collaborate across areas such as cognitive neuroscience, clinical psychology, and social psychology (including health and well-being).

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, 2-4 representative publications or pre-prints (as writing sample ), teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching effectiveness (if available, ideally 3 pages), a research statement (around 3 pages), and a 1-page diversity statement addressing contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, and service. These should be uploaded at the application portal.

The cover letter should highlight the relevance of the applicants work to developmental psychology and potential collaborations within the department and university, including centers such as the Center for Human Psychophysiology, Center for Human Development Learning and Technology, Center for Neuroscience and Behavior, and the Center for the Study and Support of Children of Families of the Incarcerated. The diversity statement should detail how the candidate plans to enhance diversity and inclusivity through their work.
