Click for a complete list of Employee Benefits.Position SummaryThe UIC Department of Family and Community Medicine is recruiting a Director of Behavioral Medicine and full-time Psychologist (Behavioral Scientist) at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor in Clinical Family and Community Medicine to join the Departments of Family and Community Medicine and Psychiatry at UIC. Faculty rank is commensurate with experience. This is a clinical, teaching, and administrative position. This position will lead the behavioral medicine programs within the Department of Family and Community Medicine and will work closely with residency leadership, faculty, and residents and will have joint appointments in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry.Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement a behavioral medicine residency curriculumProvide precepting and evaluation of family medicine residents and oversee all behavioral medicine precepting effortsServe as core faculty within the family medicine residencyProvide behavioral medicine didactic lectures and other teaching within the residency and departmentLead residency well-being programmingProvide program and residency support for the Family Medicine and the dual Psychiatry/Family Medicine residency programProvide direct clinical care to a diverse urban population in both Family Medicine and PsychiatryOversee Behavioral Medicine workflows and integrated care programming within Family MedicineServe as a liaison between the Departments of Family and Community Medicine and PsychiatryPerform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
- PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or related degree.
- Illinois licensure or license eligibility.
- Clinical practice experience in health psychology is required.
- Ideal candidates will have experience in medical education and health psychology.
- Postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology in an academic setting is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish and experience in an urban Family Medicine Residency program are preferred but not required.
