  • Effectively teach and evaluate Special Education courses and Professional Education courses, when applicable.
  • Efficiently advise Teacher Education majors with an emphasis on Special Education.
  • Develop schedules, maintain, and submit Special Education-related reports as well as those related to Teacher Education accreditation.
  • As Project Director of Title III Activity 3, gather data, evaluate programmatic initiatives, and submit quarterly reports.
  • Enhance enrollment through recruitment and programmatic initiatives.
  • Promote and optimize student success and retention.
  • Collaborate with EPP faculty and university-wide faculty.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission and vision of the university and the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences (SOBBS).
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive learning and working environment.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support the business of the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences and serve as a resource for the university community.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
    • Prior experience within the HBCU community.
    • Prior experience in a K-12 environment.
  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
    • Teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
    • Demonstrated understanding of curriculum and multiple content pathways.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and stakeholders in a diverse environment as demonstrated in prior work experience and/or educational preparation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D./Ed.D.
  • Prior experience with online instruction.
  • Experience with a learning management system, such as Canvas.
