- Effectively teach and evaluate Special Education courses and Professional Education courses, when applicable.
- Efficiently advise Teacher Education majors with an emphasis on Special Education.
- Develop schedules, maintain, and submit Special Education-related reports as well as those related to Teacher Education accreditation.
- As Project Director of Title III Activity 3, gather data, evaluate programmatic initiatives, and submit quarterly reports.
- Enhance enrollment through recruitment and programmatic initiatives.
- Promote and optimize student success and retention.
- Collaborate with EPP faculty and university-wide faculty.
- Demonstrate commitment to the mission and vision of the university and the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences (SOBBS).
- Contribute to a positive and supportive learning and working environment.
- Perform other related duties as needed to support the business of the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences and serve as a resource for the university community.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Prior experience within the HBCU community.
- Prior experience in a K-12 environment.
- Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
- Teaching certification in Special Education.
- Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Demonstrated understanding of curriculum and multiple content pathways.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and stakeholders in a diverse environment as demonstrated in prior work experience and/or educational preparation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D./Ed.D.
- Prior experience with online instruction.
- Experience with a learning management system, such as Canvas.
