Tenure-track faculty teach 6 courses per academic year and engage actively in research related to their chosen fields of study and scholarly expertise. In addition to teaching and research expectations, tenure-track faculty have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate and graduate students and participate meaningfully in the life of the department and university. Funds are available to support research-related expenses and professional travel and may include research start-up costs.

Required Documents: You will be asked to submit 1) a cover letter, 2) curriculum vita, 3) a statement of teaching philosophy (including brief summary of teaching effectiveness evidence), and 4) a statement of research interests. Candidates who advance to the finalist stage will be asked to provide 1) names and contact information for three professional references and 2) copies of official undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Application review will begin on October 1st and will continue until the position is filled. We anticipate on-campus interviews to occur at the end of November and the first week of December, with expenses paid by Loyola University Maryland.

Required Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in psychology, conferred no later than July 2026, with subject matter expertise open
  • A clear record of promise as a scholar
  • The ability to teach courses in areas of need for the department (e.g., developmental psychology, research methods, psychological assessment, health psychology, biopsychology, psychology of learning)
  • The ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom, and to infuse multicultural content into course material as appropriate
  • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact teaching practices
  • Ability to contribute to the Jesuit educational mission of the department and university
