The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health and Institute of Human Virology, Division of Epidemiology and Prevention is recruiting a full-time Assistant Professor to work on infectious disease epidemiology and modeling. Particular emphasis will be on biostatistics, data analysis and research methodologies.
The faculty member will provide essential biostatistics support as a member of large research teams. The candidate will also collaborate with faculty members to develop, execute and publish research in a broad range of areas that promote public health and the scientific knowledge base. Assistant Faculty will also contribute to teaching and service in support of the Department.
Expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $122,347 (min) and $169,525 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range may not include all components of the Epidemiology compensation program or pay from participation in Epidemiologys variable compensation program. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum (25%) and maximum (90%) salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicines good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

Qualifications
PhD degree in epidemiology, microbiology, or biostatistics with strong epidemiological training and experience with conducting research domestically and internationally.
Demonstrated experience in laboratory, epidemiological study implementation, implementation science and international program implementation required. Experience implementing multi-center studies and prospective studies is beneficial.
