Job Summary:

The Law & Justice Division is seeking candidates for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Full-time faculty appointments are for a ten-month contract period and the normal teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Teach courses in one or more of the following areas: basic forensic science, fingerprints, bloodstain pattern analysis, trace and impression evidence, arson, interview and interrogation techniques, forensic photography, and forensic topics related to evidence documentation, processing and recovery.

* May be asked to teach courses within the undergraduate criminal justice program, the graduate criminal justice administration and/or public administration programs, the online degree programs, and/or courses outside the major in support of the college's general education program.

* Student advisement and participation on college committees is required.

* Attendance at faculty meetings, campus-wide meetings, awards ceremonies, commencement, and admissions events is required.

Job Requirements:

* Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.

* Must be able to use educational technology, such as Blackboard's learning management system

* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of college and community, displaying cultural competence and emotional intelligence.

* Demonstrated commitment to the college's core Franciscan values.

* All faculty are expected to contribute service within the division, college, and community.

Minimum Qualifications:

* A Master's degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field and experience in crime scene investigation are required.

* Teaching excellence and professional experience are desired.

* Must be available to teach during the day.

* Experience in student advisement preferred

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs.
