Position Summary: The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center ( LSUHSC ) Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology and the LSUHSC Cancer Center in New Orleans, LA are seeking innovative, poised, and highly organized investigators who will serve as leaders for Basic and Translational Cancer Research. The selected candidates will be responsible for helping develop research programs within the LSUHSC Cancer Center. Senior level researchers will be expected to provide direction and mentorship to investigators currently at LSUHSC and to new faculty recruited in association with the Director of the Cancer Center.

In conjunction with the Cancer Center leadership, these individuals will help expand current faculty through the recruitment of qualified researchers in cancer-related fields. The selected candidates will interact closely with the Cancer Center leadership to establish and grow basic and translational research programs. The recruitment of a complete research team of qualified individuals will be considered in the context of this search.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a demonstrated record of sustained funding, scientific productivity, leadership skills, and be qualified for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Rank and track dependent on qualifications.

Required Education: PhD or MD in Basic Science, Health Science, or related field.

Experience: Demonstrated track record of funding, scientific productivity, and leadership skills. Preferred experience includes work in Cancer Cell Biology, Immunology, Cancer Genetics, Experimental Cancer Therapy, Population Sciences, Translational Research, or Clinical Trials.
