Christopher Community, Inc. (CCINC) seeks a full-time Assistant Maintenance Superintendents to join its growing organization as we expand our footprint in the Rochester area in partnership with Urban League of Rochester Economic Development Corporation (ULREDC) in providing property management services to their housing portfolio consisting of 15 properties totaling 369 units. CCINC is a not-for-profit housing development and management company that assist low- and moderate-income families and seniors to secure suitable housing across Upstate New York. Christopher Community currently manages over 3,000 units of housing in more than 100 buildings, and administers the Rental Assistance Program in Onondaga County, which provides assistance to over 1,200 households. The physical work location for this position will be within the Mills at High Falls, and the M&M Housing Development in Rochester, NY.Christopher Community offers competitive wages and generous benefits!Benefit Summary
  • 35 hours work week with flexible schedule
  • Up to 21 total days for PTO/Sick/Personal in the first year, 30 PTO days in your second year.

  • Hiring Hourly Rate is: $20.75 to $22 per hour and is equivalent to $37,765 to $40,040 annual compensation.
  • Additional $1,300 per year on-call stipend.

RequirementsSKILLS:You must be able to perform a wide variety of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry, and general building maintenance and repair functions related to the care and maintenance of the property. Along with these skills, you must be able to safely use and maintain various hand tools and power tools as well as equipment such as lawn mowers, and snow blowers.MUST be available for on-call coverage every other weekend for property emergenciesSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITESNo Supervisory ResponsibilitiesEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to five years related experience.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to tenants, vendors, and other employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure-using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSEmployee must have a valid NYS driver's license at all times.
