Overview:

The Assistant General Manager is accountable for delivering comprehensive assistance to designated leadership teams within the organization. Their main responsibility is to supervise the day-to-day operations of a business and offer continuous support to teams and staff. Their tasks include managing schedules, assisting with coaching, training, and directly overseeing staff and process performance. This role is an exempt, salaried position, as defined by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Due to the required strategic collaboration with other people (supervisory) and non-people management roles and/or while working directly with clients, the daily success of this role depends on consistently meeting and/or surpassing key performance indicators (KPIs), and various service level agreements (SLAs). To achieve what is expected of the role, it is a requirement of the position to cover full shifts, including work time outside of its regular scheduled hours, which includes weekends and holidays.

>Possesses experience in 3PL, Retail & Wholesale Distribution/Reverse Logistics/E-Commerce.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide support to the General Manager in effectively overseeing the operations, prioritizing safety and quality at all times.

2. Serve as a liaison, finding a balance between the needs of the Operators and the operational capabilities.

3. Lead and engage a workforce of 40-50 leaders who have specific ownership and focus on different functions within the building.

4. Plan, execute, manage, and enhance distribution center operations.

5. Ensure Operators receive excellent service and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

6. Oversee the profit and loss (P&L) of the distribution center operation.

7. Communicate effectively across all levels of the business, showcasing confidence.

8. Foster innovation in all areas of distribution center operations.

9. Undertake additional tasks as deemed valuable by leadership.

10. Collaborate closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team at nGROUP.

11. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize both relationships and results.

12. Recruit, train, and develop a highly capable team.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

2. 7+ years of experience in distribution, manufacturing, or other relevant supply chain field management, including 5+ years in an operations manager role or higher.

3. Strong aptitude to think critically, solve problems, and drive improvements in a professional and respectful manner.

4. Understanding of distribution and inventory control theories and practices.

5. Functional knowledge of designing, managing, and executing distribution center operations.

6. Knowledge of general accounting practices and P&L.

7. Demonstrated experience and success with process improvement and efficiency, including establishing and managing KPIs.

8. Working knowledge of inbound logistics, warehousing, IT systems, and outbound logistics in the distribution industry.

9. Knowledge of and ability to ensure compliance with general safety standards, quality specifications, and governmental requirements.

10. Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.

11. Strong ability to negotiate and resolve conflict by navigating confrontational situations to ensure all parties are treated with honor, dignity, and respect.

12. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as WMS systems.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to focus on Inventory task, socialize findings (verbally/visually) resolve discrepancies and post accuracy goals on the warehouse floor. Sit or stand for extended periods of time. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Associates in this position frequently operate a computer, read, and write, and interact with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. They move about within the office to access file cabinets, documents, office machinery, and other equipment. They may also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. Occasionally move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
