Assistant Estimator - Walsh Construction Company : Job Details

We are searching for our next Assistant Estimator. This position assists the Chief Estimator and Estimating Department in the execution of Conceptual, Pre-Lim, and Final Estimates.

A portion of the position responsibilities include:

• Set up bid systems for new and returning projects.
• Manage and update bid solicitation database.
• Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, and bidding of construction projects.
• Solicit and develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Price subcontractor, supplier, and self-performed scopes of work.
• Participate in developing accurate, detailed, and complete conceptual, preliminary, and contract estimates.
• Assist in bid strategy and estimate presentation.
• Identify constructability issues through estimating process.
• Track and document historical data for future estimating process.
• Train under the guidance of the Chief Estimator to expand role and responsibilities.

You are qualified if:

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• You have adequate knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• You have basic working knowledge of wood frame and concrete multi-family and commercial construction as related to all disciplines and phases of construction.
• You have the ability to read and interpret plan drawings/blueprints.
• You are highly organized, detail oriented, and accurate.
• You are self-motivated, a self-starter, and able to manage your time effectively.
• You have excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• You are a positive team player with the ability to multi-task, stay organized and maintain a strong attention to detail.
• You have the ability to work in a team environment and to perform independently while making good decisions.
• You can demonstrate your ability to exercise discretion with confidential or sensitive information.
• Field experience or experience estimating self-performed or direct work is preferred but not required.

Salary range: $85,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience.
