Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00

The Assistant Director for the Vascular Labs works closely with the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology and Vascular Labs and the Sr. Director of Operations, Acute Care, to develop and manage the daily operations of the Vascular services and throughput, as well as discharge-sensitive cases within a designated area of responsibility in the Acute Care Division at Montefiore Medical Center. The role also provides technical support for outpatient areas.

Responsibilities include overseeing the technical practice of all Vascular techs and clerical personnel in the vascular lab to ensure compliance with hospital-wide and department policies regarding patient care, diagnostic testing, discharge requirements, staff performance, quality improvement activities, cultural competence, and adherence to standards set by IAC, Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies. The Assistant Director is responsible for Revenue Cycle Operations and Supply Chain operations.

This role acts as a designee of the Director and is autonomous in representing the department in senior leadership, developing strategies to facilitate patient throughput and discharge processes while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing oversight of imaging operations by registered and non-registered technical staff.
  • Developing, maintaining, and implementing policies, protocols, and procedures related to Vascular Imaging operations.
  • Managing daily supervision of technical and administrative staff.
  • Assisting in the development of department operations, budgets, and staffing plans, including hiring, training, and evaluation.
  • Interfacing with providers, insurers, regulators, accreditation agencies, and vendors regarding technical issues.
  • Providing cross-coverage to other divisions and campuses.
  • Collaborating on system development such as EPIC and Medstreaming.
  • Strengthening affiliations with ultrasound schools for training and education.
  • Promoting patient/family-centered care.
  • Managing staff orientation, ongoing education, and professional development.
  • Preparing and managing budgets.
  • Qualifications include:

  • Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Registered in Vascular Imaging.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience, including at least 3 years in a hospital setting.
  • Healthcare management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of service delivery systems in New York, technical imaging standards, and healthcare reimbursement preferred.
  • Understanding of performance improvement principles.
  • Proficiency in basic computer, word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, project management, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective team-building skills.
