Job Description
The Office of Undergraduate Programs seeks an Assistant Director to support the current “one-stop” service center for students, offering academic planning and counseling, crisis support, internship and career advice. The role involves liaison work with offices critical to student satisfaction, such as Student Services, academic departments, and athletics.
The incumbent will act as a generalist, primarily providing academic advising and support services to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Responsibilities include:
Providing academic advising for a caseload of approximately 500 students in the Carroll School undergraduate program.Interpreting forms related to academic status and analyzing student records to provide accurate information.Assisting with course registration during fall, spring, and summer registration periods.Monitoring degree progress for all students.Providing summer advising and support to incoming first-year students at summer orientations.Serving as a resource for faculty advisors with questions about their students.Conducting liaison work with offices critical to student support and satisfaction, including Counseling Services, Campus Ministry, Dean of Students' Office, Residential Life, Student Services, BAIC, LTL, Montserrat, academic departments, and athletics.Consulting with the Senior Associate Dean on individual student issues and concerns.Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $65,550 to $81,950; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree; Master's degree preferred.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workflow, work independently, and accept responsibility for completing tasks.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office; experience with student information systems preferred.
- Some evening and occasional weekend work required.
